So Donald Trump’s impeachment ‘trial’ ended in acquittal (57-43, 10 short of the 2/3 majority needed). The trial itself was a ‘battle’ between a bunch of Democrat Congress(wo)men & Trump’s 3 lawyers. Frankly, I was better than the Dems at presenting a case when I was Chairman of the ‘Politics & Economics Society’ in sixth form. Trump’s lawyers stuck to the constitution & the facts, & with the exception of one or two ‘waffly moments’ beat them hands-down. However…still no evidence of election rigging…the lawyers stayed strictly to the task of defeating the charge of ‘inciting insurrection’. Am I surprised? Nope. Am I disappointed? In ‘Blue Peter’ fashion…here’s one I made on Saturday, when an old friend asked me “what do you make of it?”:
The Dems are really sick. Trump's lawyers vary from very good to a bit waffly. I don't think there will be any evidence of rigging or staged insurrection revealed & that's disappointing, but beyond my control. So, emotionally it's frustrating. Truth is, I don't KNOW if Trump has the evidence or if he intends to use it, or if he's leaving it too long...I do know that the election was rigged, and we're being 'taken' by a bunch of very evil people. Whatever happens, I will not bow. I haven't done all the 'truth-telling' I have for the past 65 years just to bottle it in the face of a bunch of evil scumbags. In sum, not great, but on we go...
So on that note…on we go. Here’s a few messages from this weekend:
