I have spent a lot of time on Twitter recently, attempting to shed some light on the darkness that is closing in on us...in 'real' time. I have no idea whether this does any more 'good' than writing long-form pieces, but as ever, I follow the feeling in my 'gut' about such things. Recently it has felt appropriate to offer an immediate rebuttal and/or mockery of the absurd, and sometimes utterly evil bullshit that escapes the mouths of politicians and so-called journalists.
Longer term, I have started gathering some data for an article I will be writing in a few weeks. It will contain some 'unique' research, if that doesn't sound too grand a term for it. That's all I'll say about that one at the moment - suffice to say that I have not given up on long-form.
Anyway...today there was a massacre in the Gaza Strip. These are some of my thoughts on it, as expressed on Twitter this evening:
This next one was in response to a tweet from 'Labour Friends of Israel' who should really change their name to 'Labour Excuses for Apartheid' or 'Blairite Society for the Demonisation of Jeremy Corbyn'. Anyway, here we are:
And now back to a further assault on the fork-tongued leaders of the western world:
And finally, a comment on the fake nobility we give to killing, by pretending it's about something it's not. In response to a guy who provided a list of the US sponsored Israeli massacres of Palestinians over the years...I produced my own list of sorts:
And by the way...what happened today...happens most days to a smaller degree. What is happening in Palestine is ethnic cleansing.
Postscript: Just about to go to bed with a nice cup of tea and I found this from a guy who describes himself as "Consultant, crisis, communications, speaker & tweeter. Retired IDF spokesperson & head of social media". In other words, a mouthpiece for Israeli propaganda. I was almost speechless...almost...
