“Well, I don't know why I came here tonight
I got the feeling that something ain't right
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
And I'm wondering how I'll get down those stairs
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you”

Jokers to the right:
This week Donald Trump unleashed his latest tweet storm at CNN, describing Joe Scarborough as a ‘psycho’ and his co-host Mika Brzezinski as a ‘low IQ crazy’. He also went into gory detail about the impact of Ms. Brzezinski’s alleged facelift. There was much more to this festival of soaring presidential prose, but I think that’s probably enough to be going on with.
Clowns to the left:
This week Project Veritas released three tapes of an undercover reporter who had infiltrated CNN. In the first one the CNN producer John Bonifield describes the Russia story as ‘mostly bullshit now’ and confirms that their coverage is all about ratings. In the second one Van Jones describes the Russian story as a ‘nothing burger’, and in the third one Jimmy Carr describes voters as ‘stupid as shit’, says Trump is ‘a fucking clown’, and remarks that Kellyanne Conway ‘looks like she got hit with a shovel’. But his best bit was this:
“It’s decisions made by people higher than me and if they go wow, your ratings are soaring right now. Keep up what you’re doing. Well, what we’re doing is Russia, ISIS, London terror, shooting in Chicago, that’s it.”
Stuck in the middle:
If you want to look at Trump’s tweets, just Google them - they are more common than hay fever right now. If you want to hear CNN describing just what a fine example of the fourth estate they have become, you can go here:

But the reason for this post is something different. Personally I don’t need any more evidence that Trump is an adolescent buffoon or that CNN is a unacceptable apology for a news outfit. But I do need to say this:
On Friday afternoon I went to the FT to look for reports of this week's events, but I found no mention of CNN's three part epic…it’s as if the Project Veritas tapes do not exist. What I found is this from Shannon Bond:
‘Donald Trump’s war on the media gets personal’
https://www.ft.com/content/5456f0f6-5ceb-11e7-9bc8-8055f264aa8b
It’s about the tweets and how the Republicans are running out of patience with Trump – gee whiz, who knew?
I could say something like ‘I wonder how much coverage Veritas would be getting at the FT if they were exposing Fox or Trump himself? But I DON’T wonder that. The only people who don’t know the answer to that are holed up in a cave in Afghanistan…and they don't care.
My point is this: The FT do not print the whole story, and show no interest in 'the truth’. They lack integrity and they lack spine - 'the old pink’ is ‘the new yellow’.
I can see the time coming when the only thing the clowns and the jokers agree on is a war with Russia. I don’t want to be the only one stuck in the middle when that happens.
