Those poor long suffering 'elites'. Where is the gratitude for their constant efforts on behalf of the ungrateful 'populist' plebs? Where are my tissues I can't bear it any longer...sob...
If you want to do something useful Mr Rachman, here's an idea - go into the biggest meeting you can get into before they all get back in their jets, and make an announcement:
'Ladies and gentlemen - I have a message from one of the plebs - like many of his fellow FT readers he would like you to know he is not a 'populist', a 'xenophobe', a 'fat-cat', a 'scrounger', or an 'extremist' of any kind. The message is this:
'Wake up!...Or, alternatively...just carry on whinging until history sweeps away yet another bunch of arrogant fools who interpret discontent as an unfortunate perception to be 'handled' and 'controlled' rather than as distress signals from a global political and financial system that, like the proverbial fish, is rotting from the head down'.
